Le Carrousel is located in the heart of the Louvre, at the underground level of the Louvre Pyramid, designed by the Chinese-American architect I. M. Pei in 1989. It is closely connected to the Louvre Museum, the Carrousel du Louvre Shopping Center, the Carrousel Garden, and the Tuileries Garden. Originally a royal residence and banquet hall during the reign of Louis XIV, it is one of the largest exhibition halls in the Louvre. Its design and construction aim to provide a spacious venue for showcasing various forms of art, including paintings, sculptures, and installations. This hall not only exhibits outstanding artworks from around the world but also serves as a significant platform for cultural exchange between China and France.

Nature’s Symphony

This artwork features a striking contrast between the dark frame of what appears to be a gothic-style window and the vibrant scene beyond. Through the arches of the window, we see a detailed and somewhat fantastical cityscape, blending elements of classic architecture with vivid, colorful marine life and creatures. The use of bright oranges, purples, and blues for the fish and sea creatures brings energy and life to the image, creating a striking juxtaposition against the more muted, structural tones of the buildings.

The dark black border of the window contrasts with the colorful details within the window, creating a feeling of looking out from darkness into a world full of life and movement. This may symbolize the idea of new perspectives or the merging of different realms, such as history, architecture, and marine biology, evoking a sense of wonder and discovery.
